The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this position you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Security Engineer role, you will also have:

  • Certifications (ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, COMPTIA) preferred
  • Military, IC or LE experience a plus
Your technical skills will include:
  • Experience with implementing security controls (WAF, IDS/IPS, IAM, SIEM, NGAV, Application Whitelisting, PKI, Proxy, Firewalls, NAC)
  • Strong experience and proven success work with Windows Security and Active Directory  Quick question for you - click here
  • Ability to create scripts to automate manual tasks (Powershell, Python or Perl)
  • Understanding of ICS/SCADA systems and architectures
  • Skill to apply in-depth defense concepts to network and systems architectures
  • Knowledge of the network stack and supporting protocols
    • TCP/IP, UDP,ICMP
    • DNS/SMB/HTTP/s/SSH/RDP/LDAP/s 
Your non-technical skills will include:
  • Passion and drive to advance the security program
  • Ability to create and update architecture diagrams

This role could be based at our Dallas office, where much of our leadership and IT sits, and include a mix of in-office and home office work (virtual 2-3 days per week). We will also consider outstanding candidates in other locations who would work 100% remotely. You may travel for training or other assignments, but travel will be light -- less than 10%. Travel may be a slightly higher for remote candidates.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Information Security, you will play a key role on a growing team of engineers, architects and analysts. You will responsible for the implementation, operation and improvement of security controls deployed across the environment. You will focus on identifying cyber security risk and on developing solutions to reduce or mitigate known gaps. You will consistently use your creativity and problem-solving ability to find our needle in the haystack. You'll have plenty of room to shine. With just ten internal assets on the Security team currently, we are small enough that you'll have room make your mark but big enough that you're not expected to work unreasonable hours.

Role Details
As Cyber Security Engineer, you will be able to use your creativity to solve complex problems and your knowledge to implement compensating controls. This is a dynamic role requiring high-level deployment to support multiple assets. Our customers include many Fortune 500 companies and data centers. You'll leverage your strong experience with Windows security and Active Directory daily.  Because you’ll work with teams from Operations, IT, Security, Networking and other departments, it will be critical that you are approachable and a good champion of the security program.
