The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Provisioner II opportunity, you will have:
  • An associate's degree or higher in Business or Technology.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Telecom Provisioner or related role; experience also with data centers/colocation is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of IXC/CLEC/inter-company operations and procedures.
Just as important will be the following competencies and characteristics:
  • A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to resolve customer problems effectively.
  • A strong detail orientation.
You also will need to be willing and able to travel, on occasion, to different data centers. However, we don't anticipate you will travel more than about 5% of the time. Most travel will be local, but you also may travel overnight for team meetings.

The Role

Reporting to the Provisioning Manager, you will join a team that includes nine other Provisioners. Your primary responsibilities will include managing customer communications and expectations for interconnection services. In addition, you will:
  • Learn and understand The Digital Realty Trust business model and daily operation.
  • Track all Digital Realty Trust interconnection work orders from creation by the Provisioner to execution by the Technician.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Digital Realty Trust customer interconnection inventories and communicate availability to Digital Realty Trust customers.
  • Comply with all Digital Realty Trust emergency, safety and security procedures.
  • Provide assistance to other Digital Realty Trust Management as required.
The workload will vary, and we are proactive about distributing it among the team so that no one is swamped. At the same time, in a typical day, you may have a few work orders or as many as 30. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Verifying information in letters of authorization (LOAs) and ensuring accurate billing is applied as per customer contract
  • Ensuring accuracy of customer interconnection inventory.
  • Acting as primary point for various data entry projects.
  • Learning and understanding the Digital Realty Trust business model through review of marketing materials to ensure the Provisioners knowledge of Digital Realty Trust.
