The Requirements
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a technology-related field
- A background in corporate communications or product marketing, with an overall understanding of data center technology and services
- 3+ years of experience in analyst relations or with a related analyst firm; it would also be helpful to have experience at a high-tech or data center vendor, or in a technology-related company Quick question for you - click here
- The ability to develop strong presentations and gather internal resources to deliver them to the appropriate audiences
- Polished communication skills including strong written and verbal ability, as you’ll be communicating by email, phone, and in person
- The ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently as needed
- A commitment to meeting deadlines, and the ability to prioritize
- A self-starter mentality
- Managerial experience would be a plus
The Role
Reporting to the Marketing Director, you’ll join the rest of the Marketing team in an individual contributor role. Until now, we haven’t had a formalized Analyst Relations program -- information has been coming to us but not going back the other direction. Therefore, your main goal will be to develop and execute a robust program, integrating it into the company as a support system. Quick question for you - click here You will act as a dedicated resource for developing relationships with industry analysts from Gartner, IDC, Forrester and Tier 1 Research. Your goal will be to provide them with product information, case studies, and sales successes, helping them to understand Digital Realty, our capabilities, and where we’re going so that the analysts become advocates for us.Part of your role will be to attend marketing events and conferences. You’ll also complete tracking and reporting internally, including to senior management, Sales and Marketing, on research and industry trends identified by the research community. You’ll complete ongoing monitoring of research, including reading, summarizing, and sharing the information with relevant stakeholders. The research may come from the analyst firms whom we’ve paid, but you’ll also actively seek information that covers data centers or our customers’ industries.
Though you’ll have some high-level direction based on overall goals, and some check-in points and guidance, you’ll mostly decide on your own how to best spend your time. You’ll work by phone and email for a good part of each day, but you’ll also attend meetings with key analysts. You may be asked to work on special projects to provide research for certain markets as needed, or to help build webinars with industry analysts and key subject matter experts within the company.
Your key objectives will be to:
- Provide a key link between industry analysts and internal marketing or corporate executives.
- Influence industry analysts with positive company messages that will lead to highly qualified business opportunities.
- Working with the marketing team and SMEs to secure positive analyst reports, and to deliver quality information to analysts
- Establishing an internal communications program/platform to provide relevant research information to senior management, Sales, and Marketing to enhance revenues
- Working with analyst firms to complete research reports and whitepapers
- Establishing processes for ongoing communication and education of industry analysts
- Facilitating analyst briefings and interviews during specific events
- Securing analyst quotes for press releases
- Preparing analyst briefing tours, presentations, and documents
- Overseeing budget, analysis and recommendations for purchased analyst research services
- Supporting the corporate communications team in other PR-related programs and activities
- Responding to analyst inquiries, monitoring briefings, ensuring that deliverables are provided and suggesting research topics
- Developing and monitoring an analyst report calendar for coverage potential
- Facilitating information exchange with outside PR firm(s)

Keys to Success
Industry analysts could potentially influence our revenues, so you’ll need to call on your corporate and product marketing background paired with excellent communication skills to influence the analysts. To be successful in this role you’ll need to have a firm grasp of the target markets, and a strong understanding of corporate positioning and product messaging.The ideal candidate for this role will be professional, polished, and personable in all communication. You’ll need good time management and organizational skill to build the program from the ground up with little direction.
