The Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Inside Sales Manager role will be creative, driven and accountable. Additionally, to be a good fit for this opportunity you will have: 
  • People management experience and 2-3 years of sales experience
  • At least a year of experience in B2B sales
  • A technology background with experience within the data center "ecosystem" (data centers, cloud computing, networking, disaster recovery, big data, etc.)

  • Excellent people skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to guide individuals toward goal achievement using negotiation, teamwork/collaboration, motivation, and staff development skills
  • A strong sense of urgency
  • Confidence in your own judgment, but an ability and desire to understand the needs of your team, peers, and leadership
  • Marketing savvy
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills when making decisions
  • The ability to coach and develop action plans to maximize performance and provide effective feedback when necessary
  • Proficiency in various software applications including Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com
  • Analytical thinking skills combined with the ability to find creative solutions
  • The energy and drive to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment
  • A high level of integrity and principles that embrace transparency
  • Meticulous attention to detail, organization and prioritization

There will be some domestic travel, but this is not a road warrior position.

The Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Market Development & Inside Sales, as the Inside Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing, motivating and directing the efforts of the Market Development Rep / Inside Sales team. You will oversee an outsourced Sales team comprised of three Inside Sales Reps in Utah and four in Dallas, and we expect you to continue to grow this team in the future. Because we are a Sales Development team, the mission of your group is to hunt for new business, qualify leads and then flip them to the field. We also are responsible for all of the inbound leads that come in through marketing, website, etc. You’ll be charged with developing coverage strategies for the market and pioneering new ways of delivering on the promise of social selling. Quick question for you - click here

Inside Sales is a relatively new venture for Digital Realty and it officially launched and went live in September of 2013. We’ve made significant strides in the past year and things are ramping impressively, but we are looking for a key leader in this role to take our performance to the next level of success. 

More specifically, you will: 
  • Exceed sales objectives
  • Ensure program success by driving team to execute strategic plans to reach objectives (sales)
  • Maximize productivity of Market Development Reps by mentoring team members and leveraging internal training resources
  • Monitor data capture and use of reporting tools to track performance
  • Conduct business account reviews on a regular basis
  • Maintain “open door” management style
  • Provide accurate and timely management reports on team metrics
