The Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Product Marketing Manager role will have a strong background in B2B solutions and product marketing, as well a a high- level of comfort with and passion for the evolving technology landscape and how it impacts Digital Realty's customers.

To meet the basic requirements for the Product Marketing Manager role, you must have:
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. for any employer without requiring a visa transfer of visa sponsorship
To be a strong fit for the role, you should also have:
  • A bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training (preferred); OR  four or more years of directly relevant product marketing experience
  • A background in technology and/or experience in a datacenter environment
  • The ability to create strategy and then leverage available tools to execute
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills
  • A high level of commitment to customer service
  • The ability to partner effectively with Sales and management, and serve as a strong team member
  • Salesforce CRM software experience preferred
  • A strong eye for visuals; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • A background in sales is an advantage

The Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Market Development, as Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating Digital Realty’s marketing activities, encompassing differentiated datacenter value proposition elements from our corporate position, product strength, and property portfolio. This includes guiding all aspects of advertising, including research, sales collateral, branding, website content, and channel execution.

You’ll be part of a key initiative changing the way we go to market. The rapid advances in IT (i.e. hybrid cloud) present continual opportunities for evolving solutions-driven marketing campaigns. It will be your task to effectively wrap partner solutions around Digital Realty’s offerings. In other words, you will play a key role in taking high-level technical information and crafting it into a coherent, solutions focused message. You will create overall solutions messaging as well as property level product solutions messaging for targeted markets.

While we’ll look to you to take ownership of your role and drive product marketing, you’ll also interface with an outstanding marketing team including your supervisor, the global Head of Public Relations, Director of Content Strategy, Channel Director, the Web and Social Channel Manager, VP of Demand Generation and others. Most often you’ll partner with a peer in London who manages PR in order to execute on an integrated strategy.

  • Perform basic financial analysis in Excel and track project costs against a pre-approved budget
  • Develop and maintain all customer proposal templates, PowerPoint templates and customer collateral packages
  • Effectively convey corporate offerings and value propositions via clear verbal and written communication
  • Organize and coordinate groups of people and events
  • Deliver effective presentations and respond to questions from groups of customers, managers and the general public
  • Create, format and proof customer facing documentation ensuring that it meets Digital Realty's professional standards
