The majority of your time will be spent using Auto-CAD to design custom environments and interacting with Project Managers on technical aspects.

You will also travel to Digital Realty operated facilities in the Eastern region, collecting field info, meeting with property managers, building engineers and vendors about what we're doing and how we're doing it. You will get to know the sites in your region quite well.

Additional specific responsibilities include:

Design Engineering
  • Create a design package for each customer deployment
  • Create, verify and crosscheck bills of materials, scope/spec, and customer requirements
  • Coordinate the work with the regional project manager (SM) and local property team, ensuring the local team has all required information to bid and purchase any outstanding contracts
  • Manage and balance time against outstanding projects/orders
  • Collect and apply as-built drawings, post project
  • Field measure spaces and documents as-build conditions
Vendor Management
  • Answer technical questions from vendors and contractors
  • Approve design changes
  • Provide a point of escalation for local property teams and provide support for vendor and contractor disputes and issues
 Support
  • Provide Technical support to the property teams and data center managers
  • Provide technology and process training for local teams
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to provide trade and product specific training for local teams
  • Provide issue resolution and facilitate cross functional communication such as coordination of customer change requests

Make an Impact -- You'll enjoy the satisfaction that comes with knowing your efforts positively impact company growth and your professional career.

The "best of both worlds" -- you'll find that working for our company may be a little bit different. Growth and development -- the Technical Services Delivery group, like the company itself, is on the uptrend and you will play a critical role in its growth and development. Unique culture -- we are a collaborative, people-focused company dedicated to quality and continuous improvement. When you become a member of our team, you receive our commitment to your continued development and support.

Strong foundation -- our financial strength and stability provide our customers with the assurance that Digital Realty will be their partner for current data center needs and those in the future, and our investment credit ratings provide us access to paths for more capital. We view each of our customers as a long-term partner.

We are a collaborative environment and welcome creativity and new ideas. Having said that, we have rigid standards and, to be successful, you will be required to follow them.

Just as important as your technical skills will be your interpersonal and communication abilities; you’ll coordinate the work with the regional project manager and ensure that the local team has all required information to bid and purchase any outstanding contracts.
