Why Digital Realty

High visibility and impact -- in the past performance reporting hasn’t received the level of attention we desire. The addition of this team is driven by leadership and will enjoy a good deal of focus and attention from leadership. You’ll own the function and will be able to spotlight your talent with early wins and have a long term impact. From building the team and function to creating a library of operational reports to developing performance dashboards to creating field events, you will have plenty of opportunities to shine and make an impact.

Career options -- this is a role that could keep you interested and challenged for years to come. At the same time, this is an area that is ripe with opportunity. As Digital Realty continues to grow, the team and function could also grow. Though we can't see the future, we believe there is potential to add additional positions and you could step up to the even more strategic role of Director.

Industry leader -- Digital Realty is at the top of our field and as such we can steer the industry. For example, we are on the leading edge of transparency and are one of the only providers reporting on energy. Your efforts will help us drive transparency and remain at the forefront of the industry. In fact, you won’t just look at data to inform internal decision making, you’ll engage with Marketing to help deliver understandable external information that promotes the advantages of Digital Realty.

Where's the beef? -- if you want a meaty position and resources you can sink your teeth into, look no further. No one else has close to the amount of data that we do. While other companies might be looking at one or two data centers for their information, we’re looking at centers across the globe! You will have the opportunity to take a 30,000 foot approach and serving as a visionary who can see the big picture and influence performance operations through leading-edge reporting.

Great environment -- at Digital Realty you’ll join a great team made up of diverse personalities in an easy-going but results-oriented atmosphere. We value transparency and collaboration, and understand the value that each employee brings.

Green standard for sustainability -- we are committed to improving the performance and energy efficiency of our data centers through the creation, adoption and promotion of industry-leading best data center practices. Not only do we build to LEED and BREEAM certification requirements, but we also are pioneers in thinking about green data centers, including being a contributing member of The Green Grid.

Stable profile -- our financial strength and stability provide our customers with the assurance that Digital Realty will be their data center partner for current data center needs and those in the future. Our investment-grade debt ratings provide us with access to capital to support the growth of our company, provide financing options for our customers, and continually invest in our properties.

Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary and bonus potential, we offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Video: the Digital Realty Ecosystem provides customers with a neutral, efficient and connectivity-rich environment to connect with carriers, business partners and service providers. It also provides an underlying, redundant infrastructure for carriers and service providers to deliver their entire portfolio of products and services to customers in any Digital Realty data center, without capital-intensive deployment costs.

Keys to Success

To be successful in the role of Manager, Reporting, you will need to be a visionary who can see the big picture while also having the skill and tenacity to lead your team as they dig into the fine details, seeing trends and analyzing meaning. Your supervisor, the Director, Property Operations, along with the VP, Property Operations, will set you on the correct path, but you’ll take ownership of the performance reporting function and develop and implement monthly/quarterly processes and procedures and KPIs. To be successful, you'll be someone who can take direction while also taking full ownership of your role and team.

We’ve already said it, but it’s worth repeating here: this is a role requiring someone who can step beyond the initial data analysis and reporting. You’ll need the skill to work with cross-functional stakeholders and find the appropriate way to present results to senior leaders and Marketing. Whether through a PowerPoint, white paper or other means, you’ll present complex issues in a clear and concise manner and make recommendations to assist in decision making and/or course corrections. As such, you should be adept at blending your analytical reasoning and problem solving skills with creativity, strategic insight and outstanding communication skills.
