This is a hands-on role for a passionate, experienced and customer-centric content marketing expert in the B2B technical marketing space, who loves to write! You will enjoy a high-level of internal and external visibility, as you work across the organization and create engaging content for all digital channels, including the website, emails, blogs, social networks, etc. You’ll leverage your exceptional storytelling and editorial skills, as well as your technical knowledge and understanding to articulate our business in a compelling way, ensuring consistent messaging and delivering assets that can be used by stakeholders throughout the organization.

The Requirements

To qualify for the role of Director, Content Strategy, you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a strong fit for the role, you will also have:

  • A demonstrated track record of defining and executing highly effective content marketing programs
  • A metrics-driven mindset with a relentless focus on increasing ROI; experience developing KPIs, dashboards and benchmark reports to measure content engagement success
  • Proven ability to translate brand personality and product capabilities into content assets that engage customers and increase lead generation/conversion rates
  • Prior experience managing content for corporate websites as well as other digital channels, including strategy, editorial and copywriting
  • Deep understanding of localization strategies, translation processes, etc.
  • Strong computer skills and understanding of marketing automation systems, CRM software, Salesforce preferred, and experience using analytical tools
  • Outstanding writing skills: polished presentation skills

In addition to these requirements, you will travel to Digital Realty data center locations and for marketing events approximately 5% of the time. 

The Role

Reporting to the VP of Global Marketing, as Director, Content Strategy, you will work within the marketing organization and be responsible for content strategy and marketing across multiple digital channels, including the corporate website and social networks. You will serve as our content strategy leader and take a holistic approach to content across Digital Realty’s global organization. It will be your mission to understand the needs/objectives of the business, develop a content strategy/vision to help meet those needs, then facilitate content alignment through centralized content assets and messaging.

Part of your role will be to regularly interface with the business, including Sales, Finance, IT, Program Management and other departments, connect with key stakeholders, including the executive team, gather information and create a targeted content strategy for multiple channels. With a clear strategy in mind, you will take a hands-on approach and execute by creating content yourself and ensuring that the assets you create are widely available to the departments (particularly Sales) who need them. You will create web pages, promotional campaigns, case studies and much more. Typically, your days will be split between meetings, presentations and strategy, and directly creating content.

  • Managing an editorial calendar based on strategic goals, business priorities, product launches and other events.
  • Implementing best practices for content creation, reuse and optimization.
