The Requirements
To qualify for the role of Sr. Director, Portal & Product Development, you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. - 3-5+ years of portal development experience; including a deep understanding of UI development, portal launch, customer adoption, etc.
- 3+ years of leadership and management experience.
- Systems expertise with IT including experience mapping disparate systems for global launches and acquisitions.
- Familiarity with Stage-Gate® methodology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to serve as a creative thinker and influential leader.
- The disposition to work and thrive under tight deadlines.
- The ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills; the ability to collaborate and manage a team as well as multiple projects.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Product Management & Development, as the Sr. Director, Portal & Product Development, you will take ownership of two primary functions:- Leading product development for our global organization; including creating and implementing product development lifecycle processes, managing new product development activities, and creating a Stage-Gate road map. - Serving as product management lead for our portal strategy.
We have a robust network of seven different portals, and you’ll help to bring synergy as you define and implement strategies and workflow. One of your first initiatives will be to take a new, world-class portal from our acquisition, and integrate that into our legacy portals in order to create a single portal capability.
Our portals include the following:
- Global Customer Portal -- Customers can login to create trouble tickets, submit product orders, view billing, etc.
- Marketplace Portal -- Connect to customers who we can exchange data with. (i.e. Network Providers, Cloud Providers, etc.)

Depending on your background, it’s important to note that there may be a learning curve if you aren’t already familiar with our industry and business. As long as you you have the combination of product development, portal development and leadership skills that we are looking for, we will provide you the training, resources and support you need to get you up to speed on the colocation / data center side of things.Relationship building and communication are also essential pillars for success in this role. It will be paramount that you can collaborate cross-functionally with departments throughout the organization and externally. For example, you can expect to partner regularly with IT, Global Operations, Customer Service and others as you flush out requirements and share ideas and insights in regards to processes and implementations. You can also expect to work with our customers (the end users) to get feedback on features and capabilities.
