Why Digital Realty

Make your mark
It isn't often that a compensation professional has a blank slate to design a best-in-class program. You will "own" the process, from nitty-gritty analysis and pricing to shaping the philosophy. In addition, you'll impact all areas of comp, including performance management, rewards and recognition, equity, executive compensation and more.

Professional development
We know you'll bring solid knowledge and experience with you, but chances are good that you'll be able to learn plenty more in this position. For example, this may be your first exposure to real estate or data centers, and you'll also gain global exposure. We are looking for a professional who is driven to advance; success in this role could set you up to pursue a promotion to the Director level . . . in fact, the VP is looking for someone who wants to take over the his job down the road.

Exciting time to join
With the acquisition of Telx, Digital Realty adds robust colocation, strategic network dense connectivity, a vast and open partner ecosystem and unmatched freedom of choice to one of the world's largest data center footprints. As we integrate processes and teams from the two companies, there will be opportunities for strong performers to make their mark.

The "best of both worlds"
You'll find that working for our company may be a little bit different. We are small enough, with only 1300 employees across our global portfolio, that your hard work will be visible throughout the organization, yet our extensive offering of services and solutions and proven track record of growth; stability and industry-leading innovation give you the resources and tools you need to take your career to the next level.

Unique culture
We are a collaborative, people-focused company dedicated to quality and continuous improvement. When you become a member of our team, you receive our commitment to your continued development and support.

Strong foundation
Our financial strength and stability provide our customers with the assurance that Digital Realty and Telx will be their partner for current data center needs and those in the future, and our investment credit ratings provide us access to paths for more capital. We view each of our customers as a long-term partner.

Green standard for sustainability
We are committed to improving the performance and energy efficiency of our data centers through the creation, adoption and promotion of industry-leading best data center practices and experience. We are pioneers in thinking about green data centers and are also a Contributing Member of The Green Grid.

Excellent compensation
In addition to a competitive wage and discretionary bonus potential, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes all you would expect plus some pleasant surprises, like multiple flexible spending plans, a generous company match on the 401(k) plan, and more.

Collins gives you a glimpse of the features and amenities that make Digital Realty the data center provider of choice around the world. This site is part of our 69-acre Digital Dallas Datacampus in the epicenter of North Dallas' high technology corridor.

Keys to Success

It should be clear by now that we are in design mode. To thrive in this environment, you will be flexible, proactive about learning, willing to work hard and comfortable with ambiguity. You should be able to create comp functions that motivate high performance without imposing a lot of bureaucracy on employees. At the same time, you'll need to incorporate reporting and controls appropriate to a public company.

Your technical compensation expertise will be essential, but just as important will be interpersonal and leadership skills. You'll interact regularly with line business leaders, third party providers and others, acting as a change agent. You'll leverage your influencing and motivational skills to build consensus, gain buy-in and drive results.

We've already stated it, but it's important enough to repeat: you'll help define and communicate the compensation big picture, but you'll also need to be willing to roll up your sleeves in our lean organization.
