The Requirements

To be a good fit for the opportunity of VP, Corporate FP&A, you will need broad and in-depth FP&A process and systems experience, strong process-orientation, and the ability to partner with others in order to achieve results.

More specifically, you should have:
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant combined work experience within FP&A function at companies with international operations and diverse product offerings. Quick question for you - click here
  • M&A, systems and process integration experience.
  • A history of success and progression in management.
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company (preferably a REIT) and deep knowledge of SEC requirements. 
  • One-on-one experience with senior leadership.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, accounting or other relevant focus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, financial modeling, and multi-dimension reporting tools (Oracle, Host, etc.)
  • Experience in international operations, workforce planning and/or real estate finance knowledge including construction, leasing & portfolio management, joint venture/partnership, and capital transactions will be helpful.

The Role

As the VP, Corporate FP&A, you will report to the SVP, Finance, and work closely with other VP and Director level finance team members, coordinating the overall budget and planning processes and timelines. Each of the other senior members, all seasoned real estate finance professionals, has a specific focus such as construction, lease & portfolio management (including overseas), joint ventures, SEC reporting or capital transactions. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, consolidation and modeling of the Company’s corporate budget and forecast results. This includes direct oversight over workforce planning and corporate department budgeting while partnering with SVP, Business Finance to consolidate and report portfolio results. 

You will also provide leadership for the finance function, including hiring, training, managing and mentoring finance personnel, and providing cross-training and other professional development activities. In every area and project, you will understand the business requirements, conceptualize the deliverable, and drive completion.

A specific sampling of your responsibilities includes:
  • Managing and developing a team of 2-3 individuals (most likely a Manager and two Analysts)
  • Overall budget and forecast planning coordination
  • Consolidated multi-year earnings model including financial & operating KPI’s
  • Corporate overhead planning & analysis
  • Internal Management Reporting (CFO, Board, Supplemental, etc.)
  • G&A Support for Business leads (Partner to IT, HR, Legal, etc.)
  • Financial Systems Design & Implementation
  • Participating in the oversight of the finance and internal control systems
  • Contributing to the production of accurate financial statements and SEC filings
  • Providing finance technical support on structuring business transactions
  • Developing and executing reporting-process improvements in collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders
  • Evaluating, developing and executing reporting process improvements to produce insightful and meaningful reports for senior executives
  • Overseeing ad-hoc project-based analytical exercises to support Acquisitions, Investor Relations, Portfolio Management, Finance, IT, HR and other corporate departments
