  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is highly preferred
  • A professional and articulate presence and comfort interacting with senior executives
  • Outstanding calendaring and scheduling skills, including the foresight and responsiveness to manage changes, often on short notice
  • Skill and experience making travel arrangements
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Gatekeeping ability
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation
In addition, you will need the following core characteristics and competencies:

  • Reliability, punctuality, and schedule flexibility (you may flex hours to mirror the CFO, but won't typically work over 40 hours)

The Role

In this important role, you will report to and directly support the CFO, maintaining his schedule, making travel arrangements, keeping him organized and moving effectively through his day, acting as gatekeeper, getting coffee or picking up his lunch, etc. The CFO is a very busy, high-energy individual deeply involved in multiple areas of our global organization. It will be your job to keep everything on track and flowing. You'll need a "do what it takes" attitude to meet your primary mission of ensuring he has what he needs to optimally perform his role.

Keys to Success

To excel in this role you will be flexible and adaptable; there will be a lot going on, and priorities and deadlines will change frequently. You may start the day with a well laid out to-do list, but you can expect that list to change more than once! You'll need to understand the CFO's priorities, recognize what is most urgent, and handle it with unruffled confidence. To fit in well with the team you will be down-to-earth and take direction with a "can do" attitude. At the same time, the CFO likes to keep his finger on the pulse of his team, so you should be prepared to share where you are with your tasks at any given time.

This is not a role where you will have to be responsive after hours, but it is a role where you will be highly responsive when you are at work. Your ability to effectively manage priorities will be key to your success. Additionally, to be an outstanding Executive Administrative Assistant, you will:
  • Have a strong sense of urgency
  • Be proactive and insightful
  • Maintain a helpful, upbeat attitude
