The Requirements

The ideal candidate for the role of Director of HR Operations, will have a strong background in HRIS integrations and People Analytics. This is a hands-on, thinking role, so you should also have the tactical skill to analyze HRIS data, run reports, and implement processes.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Information Technology or related field. A post-graduate degree in Business, Computer Science is strongly desirable.

  • 3-5 years of previous people leadership management experience. 
  • Strong HR functional knowledge and ability to translate process requirements into system specifications; must have knowledge of HR best practice business processes. 
  • Demonstrated experience(s) in driving enhancement of People Analytics capabilities from data reporting & metrics dashboards to advanced modeling & predictive analytics in a multi-national organization, including integration of business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Spotfire, Tableau).
  • Experience with Oracle will be an advantage. 
  • Experience with the design and implementation of multiple, complex, and diverse HR system solutions. 
  • A strategic mindset with a willingness to be hands on and ensure operational excellence. 
  • A successful track record of strong project management across a series of competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and achieve consensus among multiple stakeholders
  • The ability to function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities. 
  • Experience with mergers and/or acquisitions integration a plus. 
  • Demonstrated change management experience in solving technical business issues. 
  • Experience in a global business environment preferred.

The Role

Reporting to VP Total Rewards & HR Operations, as Director, HR Operations you will be responsible for defining a long-term HR & people analytics strategy that, building on successes to date, enhances the company's ability to develop business insights. We are in the midst of an exciting HRIS implementation set to go live later this year, and one of your key responsibilities will be to oversee the successful adaptation of the new system. Your primary mission in this role will be to evaluate and assess all HR processes and information/data flow to ensure it is functioning well, employees have a good experience, and there is minimal operating error. You'll manage a team of two talented Analysts who are experienced and eager for a dynamic leader to come in and helm the ship. 

More specifically, your key responsibilities will be to:

HR Information Systems 
  • Develop HR information/technology strategy and gains buy-in and support from key stakeholders and HR Leadership Team
  • Manage the current HRIS portfolio to ensure operational excellence and optimization of existing technology solutions; ensures the establishment and enforcement of implementation protocols, policies, procedures, and quality metrics
  • Drive the analysis of organizational needs as required for long range planning, budgeting, and implementation of technology systems and services.
  • Take a leadership role in developing, enforcing and implementing HR data privacy policy and rules for the data access to different HRIS modules. 
Employee Data Management & People Analytics
  • Ensure the accuracy of the information to ensure the right information is portrayed in the reports / analysis being delivered; establish global data governance framework, including global data standards and oversees regular audits of HR data and leads efforts to address issues to be corrected 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across the HR functional areas to promote data governance and stewardship, and to improve overall strategic and operational performance and insight.
  • Utilize technology & analytical tools to analyze enterprise-wide people and other cross-functional data as needed to support the HR Leadership Team help and senior management identify opportunities for improvement and make decisions to improve people & business operations, processes and programs.
Program Management / IT Partnership
  • Apply knowledge of project management and information technology principles in interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating HR Information Systems maintenance, upgrade and new implementation projects.
  • Serve as a principal subject matter expert between HR functional subject matter experts and the IT organization; identifies and recommends areas for process and/or cost improvements.
Leading & Managing People
  • Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.
  • Participate in formal staff review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales. 
  • Manage HRIS team to achieve optimum staffing effectiveness and to build bench strength within the HRIS function.
