The ideal candidate for the Product Manager role will have a strong business orientation, a keen sense of the qualities of great products, and a proven track record of defining and executing a strategic plan for successful network based product(s) / service(s). You will have a solid background in cloud services and a high-level understanding of network services. You won't need tactical technical knowledge, but you should be able to "talk-the-talk" as you work with and influence other stakeholders.
To meet the basic qualifications for the Senior Product Manager, Cloud Services opportunity, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Senior Product Manager, Cloud Services opportunity, you will also have:
- 6 to 10+ years of direct product management experience
- A bachelor's degree required; an MBA preferred
- The ability to recognize and communicate customer acquisition and related revenue opportunities, not just technical solutions
- Understanding of network technology and the cloud environment
- Experience in a partnered-setting supporting a white label product is preferred
- Networking experience
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and product management software
- The ability to travel domestically and internationally 20% - 30% of the time
- A business-driven mindset with passion for technology
- Craving to uncovering new revenue opportunities and develop strategies to increase product market presence
- High energy and drive; self-sufficiency; the ability to work virtually with team members across the country and world
- Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships

The RoleReporting to the Senior Director, Global Connectivity, as Senior Product Manager, Cloud Services, you will take ownership of a new product and be responsible for driving new services and product capabilities from initial concept to successful delivery and market adoption. This will include managing the product development lifecycle / stage-gate processes, new product development activities, road map development, defining launch and implementation processes such as Sales and wider organization training, tracking the sales pipeline and other metrics, and more. You will become an expert on the product and competitive trends, and in the next stage, drive enhancements and wider release. You will stay with the product over the long-haul, managing the success of the North American markets, then rolling out the product in the international marketplace.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Identifying compelling market opportunities, and creating a product strategy to exploit the opportunity
- Meeting with customers, users, prospects, partners, and industry analysts to communicate the Digital Realty vision of the market, product roadmap, and competitive differentiation
- Functioning as the primary SME (subject matter expert) on the product and its target market, and understanding the competitive landscape from strategy to functional capabilities
- Identifying customer and prospect problems that represent significant market opportunities and that are addressable by Digital Realty
- Collaborating with marketing to develop a go-to market plan and generate outbound messaging, sales training, and product collateral
- Representing Digital Realty as a domain and product expert at user groups, webinars, customer summits, industry and corporate events
