The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Global Product Manager, Portals / Colocation opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering.
  • Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to plan and execute.
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the Internet or telecom space, which may include any of the following (experience in all areas is NOT required):
    • Business analysis and solution definition.
    • Software roadmap and release management.

  • Strong technical and business acumen, including the ability to comfortably speak with customers for Voice of the Customer interviews.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Product Management & Development, you will join a product management team of 13. While this is an individual contributor role, you'll provide leadership to cross-functional teams, including contributors from operations, IT, the product management team, external vendors and others. You'll invest a good deal of your time in managing projects, supporting the development of portal products (primarily) and colocation products. Quick question for you - click here

Your mission will be to ensure that portal and colocation products are properly managed and performing within established revenue growth, margin and churn range. This will include ensuring these products integrate effectively with the rest of the Digital Realty product suite. You'll play a key role within the team, directly responsible for both product lifecycle management and strategy of our existing portal and colocation products. and product development for any new products.

There will be hands-on work, but a main focus will be planning and managing projects, including:
  • Analyzing and defining new product specifications and requirements in collaboration with customers.
  • Establishing clear business processes and defining the scope of work.
  • Delegating responsibilities and clarifying expectations, and holding team members accountable.
  • Coordinating cross-functionally, helping remove roadblocks and solve problems.
  • Managing product releases.
  • Developing marketing materials to support products.
In addition, you will:
  • Support cross-functional teams to improve our quote-to-cash process.
  • Assist with sales training and development.
  • Manage inventory, including producing reports on what inventory is available.
  • Conduct Voice of the Customer interviews to gain insight into customer requirements to inform product development.
