The Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Proven success as a product manager
  • In-depth understanding of what a Data Center is.
  • In-depth understanding of the Colocation and/or Scale Product and Market.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors.
  • Familiar with all IT Services, like Cloud, Hosting and Telecom Services.
  • In-depth understanding of the services market, including market trends, competitors and pricing fluctuations. In particular, as these topics relate to multi-tenant data center providers 
  • Working experience with PLM process and development/management of a product
  • Understanding of cost modeling and ability to interpret financial metrics like ROI, ROIC, EBITDA and Gross/Net Margins fluently
Preferred, but not required, qualifications:
  • MBA desirable
  • Experience selling, implementing or managing professional services engagements

The Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Global Product Management, as Senior Product Manager, Services, you will join a strong product management services team working virtually throughout the U.S. While this is an individual contributor role, you'll provide leadership to cross-functional teams, including contributors from Operations, IT, Product Marketing, Sales, external vendors and others.

Throughout your role, you'll invest a good deal of your time in managing projects to support the development of our existing Service Products set including Remote Hands, Implementation Services and Electrical Fit Outs.
Your mission will be to ensure that each of the Service Products, along with the rest of the Digital’s Scale and Colocation suite of products, are properly managed and performing within the acceptable revenue growth, margin and churn ranges, as set forth by the executive management team. You will manage the full product lifecycle and strategy for existing service products as well as product development for new products. More specifically, you will:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Digital’s Service Products; ensure that we have a complete understanding of our current product set and where it falls within the PLM cycle in order to ensure that we have an appropriate product strategy.
  • Work closely on cross-functional team(s) to improve our Quote to Cash process; reduce the of time it takes for Digital to get from Quote to Cash and increase our revenue.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing to maintain up-to-date knowledge of the competitive landscape, market trends, and product/sales collateral.
  • Provide Sales the tools needed to be effective and assist the department with proper decision making.
  • Take ownership of cost models by site and pricing for all service products -- ensure that we have a detailed understanding of what our costs are by site so that we can provide reliable margins on a deal by deal basis. Also, ensure that service products are priced appropriately within the market.
  • In the area of sales training and development, you will ensure that the Sales team has the appropriate sales training required to effectively sell service products.
  • Manage inventory by working with the various Operations, Engineering and Finance organizations to ensure that Digital has the appropriate amount of inventory available within the right markets to hit our growth targets.
  • Work on special projects that drive revenue growth, cost reduction, and/or customer satisfaction improvements.
  • Perform customer surveys and Voice of the Customer engagements.
  • Manage Product Availability Matrix (PAM).
