The Requirements
To meet the basic qualification for this position you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Lead Data Center Facilities Engineer opportunity, you also should have:- Solid experience (at least 6 years) in mission critical facilities operating / engineering, including experience with mission critical infrastructure (UPS, HVAC, generators, cooling, fire/life safety systems, BMS). Data center experience is strongly preferred, but we also will consider experience in hospitals, nuclear plants, military, etc.*
- Leadership experience; ability to manage and mentor a small team of engineers.

- A trade license or certification acquired through technical education/training and/or a facilities maintenance certification is preferred.
- The ability to:
- Comprehend, analyze and interpret complex project documents, including AutoCAD, Visio and PDF documents.
- Manage projects effectively.
- Develop installation standards and project tracking/management documents.
- Interact effectively with managers, clients, customers and vendors.
- Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
- A commitment to safety and the ability to adhere to safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
- Ability to write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or Method of Procedures (MOPs) for automated building controls.
- A high level of commitment to customer service to both co-workers and clients.

The Role
As a Lead Engineer, you’ll work with, supervise and mentor a team of three Facilities Engineers to ensure coverage 365 days per year, 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. You’ll spend most of your days on a variety of interesting activities, including walking the facility and inspecting infrastructure systems, performing routine maintenance, supervising the facility, assessing needs, monitoring construction projects, and completing repairs as needed. You’ll write and organize MOPs, coordinate vendor assignments and ensure that the maintenance gets completed for your assigned building and shift. The service you provide will be to the underlying support systems (power, cooling, etc) for customers’ computers.
Some of your specific responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring building infrastructure systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing building infrastructure systems, HVAC system, electrical systems, and more.
- Performing preventive maintenance on all building equipment.
