The Requirements

This is an ideal opportunity for an analyst with a well-rounded skill-set, mastery of one domain, or experience is a SCADA shop requiring wide support. You could have infrastructure experience or perhaps served as an administrator. As long as you have strong technical skills (listed below), passion for security and a hunger to make an impact, this role could be a great opportunity for you.   

To meet the basic qualification for this position you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Security Analyst role, you will also have:

  • Understanding of Incident Response Plans and requisite procedures
  • Technical skills, including:

    • Ability to create scripts to automate manual tasks (Powershell, Python or Perl) 
    • Understanding of ICS/SCADA systems and architectures
    • Knowledge of cyber kill chain
    • Ability to pivot across various tools or controls to find and validate threats
  • Outstanding customer facing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under stress
  • Ability to work independently and also serve as a strong team member
Desired (not required) backgrounds/experience:
  • A Track record of success in securing large and complex environments

You will work out of our Dallas location, where much of our leadership and IT sits. There is some schedule flexibility as long as you are on site during our core noon to 5:00 hours. While we don't have a traditional on-call rotation, once fully trained, everyone is tasked with responding to after-hours call ASAP.
 

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Information Security, you will play a key role on an outstanding team of engineers, architects and other analysts. As Security Analyst, you will be passionate about and responsible for finding and eliminating information security threats across the organization. We take a proactive approach to security, from leveraging the latest tools to actively hunting threats. Your ability to use your knowledge, intelligence and creativity to solve complex problems and arrive at solutions to protect our business will be critical to your success.

Role Details
Daily, you will begin your day checking the queue for the list of events/alerts. You will investigate, see if we need further action, determine if you need help from a peer and resolve the list. You'll work throughout your day, analyzing data from a broad set of controls and systems, finding and stopping incidents. While hunting threats you will triage systems, execute the incident response plan and assist stakeholders with any security-related issues. 

You'll have a good deal of customer interaction. It will be critical that you are approachable, responsive and a champion of the security program.
