• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred) related to technology, electrical or mechanical fields of study.
• At least 2 years’ experience in telecommunications.
• A minimum of 2 years of engineering and planning or related experience.

• Experience working in a data center and/or colocation environment preferred.

Currently, we are primarily working remotely. Post-Covid, you will be at your assigned site approximately 50%, with the other 50% being a combination of remote access and local and national travel. As Data Center Design Engineer, your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, design engineering and record maintenance for all assigned facilities, customer space and power. You will issue Work Orders to instruct facility technicians on tasks to be performed and for project tracking, create Project Bill of Materials (BOMs) for customer installations, manage cable ties capacity and augment projects. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist with colocation expansion projects, as well as assist Sales with customers' technical requests. • Manage assignments of new customer racks, cabinets, cages, panels and conduits.
• Create in AutoCAD Implementation Packages and Statement of Work (SOW) documentation for installations of ladder rack, fiber raceway, cable ties, power and grounding.
• Create Project Bill of Materials (BOM) for all installation projects.
• Create Work Orders to instruct facility technicians on task to be performed and to track installation projects and sub-contractors' work.
• Update facility floor plans using AutoCAD and our Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software.
• Update connectivity and cable tie records using DCIM software.
• Update records of customers’ power circuits using company DCIM software.
• Assist sales engineers with facility capacity inquiries regarding space, power and connectivity.  
• Perform audits as required at Digital Realty sites.
