The ideal candidate will be located in the Dallas area, though we will consider candidates in other Texas areas. Currently, we are all working 100% remotely, but when it's safe to do so again, we can meet in the office once in a while (i.e. few times per month) for team activities.

To qualify for the Security Engineer opportunity, you will have:

• Technical experience in implementing and using commercial and/or open-source, enterprise-class security products in large and complex globally dispersed environments required. 
• Knowledge in areas such as email protection, SOC, SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, forensics, incident handling, etc., with particular expertise in at least one area.
• Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP), and services (SSH, DNS, RDP, HTTP/HTTPS). 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write SOPs and other documentation.
• Solid people skills are essential. You will need the ability to communicate effectively with the team and other internal contacts.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems, physical access systems (HID, MIFARE, AWIDS), contactless standards (RFID/NFC) and attack platforms (Proxmark, Omnikey) are a plus. 
• Blue team skills are required; red team skills are a plus. 
• A college degree and/or certifications are a plus.
• Experience communicating with non-technical stakeholders is a plus.

Reporting to Director of Security Operations, you will join our growing Security Architecture and Operations team where you'll be responsible for day-to-day operations, such as ensuring your assigned product is working as intended, ensuring security software is up to date and running normally, doing upgrades, etc. Additionally, you will support the team in your area of expertise, serving as a primary during urgent situations and as a secondary to engineers with expertise in other areas. 

As Security Engineer, your overall mission, and the mission of the team, will be to make things better. To meet that mission, you'll be focused on doing the right thing, effectively contributing, and remaining aware of your tool(s). Specifically, you will:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for various security tool(s). 
• Implement new tools, evaluate existing tools, and plan for product replacement.
