To be a good fit for the Data Center Technician II opportunity, you will have:

• 1+ years of technical experience in a data center or telecom environment.

You will start off training on the day shift, which may last about six months. Following that, you'll work a mid-shift Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM. In addition, you will participate in an after-hours on-call rotation every third week, including weekends.

Reporting to the Remote Hands Service Manager, you will join a growing team of technicians and assist all Digital Realty customers by providing best-in-class customer and technical support. Some projects will last a few days while others may be completed in a couple of hours. More specifically, you will:

• Perform Remote Hands services which are tracked through the Digital Realty ticketing system. This includes, but is not limited to, the following services:
  • Equipment rack and stack.
  • Cable, terminate, and dress fiber or copper network cabling.
  • Assist customers with the diagnosis of hardware and software issues on their equipment.
  • Power cycling of customer equipment.
  • Blade/card, memory, hard drive, and transceiver installations or removal.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic circuits.
• Perform cabinet/cage audits.
• Perform migrations of equipment, power, or networking devices.
• Ship and receive packages.
• And more.
