To be a good fit for the Director, Global Operations Training & Development opportunity, you will have:
  • 10+ years of experience leading a training organization
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and deliver measurably effective training
  • The ability to lead others in the creation of learning solutions, using diverse learning strategies, including instructor-led learning; web-based and virtual ILT; hands-on, in-the-work learning; training manuals; etc. Quick question for you - click here
  • Demonstrated strong listening and collaboration skills for uncovering business needs and translating them into executable requirements
  • A proven track record of marrying strategy to practical, results-driven execution – comfortable operating in both strategy and execution domains
  • The ability to use best-in-class design and delivery techniques within budget
  • Experience with learning analytics, and a data-driven results orientation
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience with learning management systems, ideally including Cornerstone
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred

As Director, Global Operations Training & Development, you will report to the Vice President, Portfolio Operations and play a critical and influential role in driving excellence in Operations organization at Digital Realty. You'll be responsible for running a global training organization and developing a roadmap that creates a competent and empowered Operations organization. Operations include both the technical teams running the data centers and the real estate teams managing the properties.

You'll lead a team of three and work with external resources as necessary. Pivotal to your success will be your ability to build bridges with stakeholders, collaborating with them to identify new training modules to meet changing operational requirements. We have an effective training program in place, but your mission will be to re-prioritize the entire program to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. This will include ensuring we have high-quality relevant content delivered in an engaging way, and that we track program effectiveness. Quick question for you - click here

Over the longer term, you will add in training geared toward onboarding and retention. You'll also develop and implement tools and resources to help managers. In addition, you'll ensure T&D programs are consistent across all global locations. You and your team also will develop reference manuals. Your own responsibilities will involve developing and delivering presentations to executives.
