To be a good fit for the Commercial Assistant Property Manager opportunity, you will have:
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred) in Business, Real Estate, Finance or similar, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.  Quick question for you - click here
  • 3+ years of related experience in commercial property management including responsibility for financial reporting, accruals, budgeting, and customer service. Quick question for you - click here
  • Strong understanding of financial terms and principles and the ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS Office programs, including intermediate Excel skills; Yardi or similar property management software experience preferred; SharePoint preferred.

Reporting to and taking direction from the Real Estate Manager (REM) in Piscataway, you will be responsible for two data centers located in Piscataway and Totowa, NJ. You will support all aspects of the management of your assigned properties, including both financial and operational tasks. You'll provide various financial reports and accruals, re-forecasts, budgeting and reconciliations. Additionally, you'll help with service agreements, AR and AP, and more. Managing our customer ticketing system will also be an important component of your role. You’ll spend most of your time in Piscataway but travel to Totowa on occasion. The Totowa campus has room to grow, so in time you may take on more responsibilities there.

In addition to the responsibilities described above, you will regularly work with Security, Engineering, Shipping and Receiving, and other teams, serving as a liaison for the REM and helping build a collaborative environment. You'll also work with vendors, such as landscapers. Specifically, you will:
  • Support the planning, budgeting, and control of operating and capital expenditures.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, monthly reports, variance reports, and heavy financial reporting.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable, payment of expenses, common area maintenance estimates, reconciliations, compliance with lease terms, and preparation of all related documentation.
  • Respond to customer requests and needs; coordinate efforts with Property Management and Technical Operation teams to resolve issues.
  • Oversee selection and performance of vendor services, including preparation of requests for proposal and service agreements; monitor vendor performance against service level agreements. 
  • Support creation of new purchase orders.
